This taxon was described as a form in Savulescu
T. (coord.,1964) Flora Reipublicae Popularis Romanicae 9,
Ed. Acad. RPR, Bucuresti pp. 69, 71 from Baile Herculane,
Caras-Severin county and Pietrele Chalet in Retezat Mountains,
Hunedoara county. The set of photographs below was made in Lotrului
Mountains near Voineasa, Valcea county and the populations from the
western higher part of the Meridional Carpathians seem to be
uniform, with constant characters. Other three Central European
subspecies with broadly overlapping ranges are recognized recently
in the flora of Romania books.
Voineasa, Lotrului Mountains, Valcea county, July 2007.
